ENVIRONMENTAL

Rowland's environmental program has been developed to:

  • Make environmental awareness part of how Rowland does business by introducing initiatives that are accepted and embraced by staff
  • Produce meaningful reductions in our use (and purchase) of resources, without compromising the quality or efficiency of our work.

The program has commenced by identifying activities that will deliver the greatest benefit at the least cost, and will be expanded over time as part of Rowland's Corporate Sustainability Policy.

Current initiatives include:

  • Relocation to 5-Star energy efficient premises in October 2009
  • Setting computer defaults to double-side, black and white printing
  • Provide paper recycling bins at all printers and workstations
  • Installation of water-efficient dishwashers
  • Reduction in printing of emails and abbreviation of email signatures
  • Electronic distribution of internal newsletters and reports.

Rowland utilises paper with recycled content or harvested from renewable plantation timber. We also access locally-accredited printers utilising vegetable-based inks. We communicate new initiatives via email campaigns over printed material wherever feasible, and where we are in accordance with client specifications we also forward reports and proposals electronically.
