2012 Business Person of the Year

Business-Person-of-the-year-319pxRowland Founder and Chairman, Geoff Rodgers, was honoured as Business Person of the Year at the Lord Mayor’s Business Awards 2012 in Brisbane.

Geoff founded Rowland in Brisbane as a one-man operation in 1992. His entrepreneurial vision and drive has seen Rowland grow into one of the largest and most respected communication consultancies in Australia, with almost 70 people on staff.

He was chosen for the prestigious award from an impressive list of finalists including Bevan Slattery (NEXTDC), Elena Gosse (Australian lnnovative Systems (AlS) and Stefan Ackerie (Stefan Hair Fashions).

Geoff has served Brisbane through high-profile voluntary and community roles in both business and community life. He is a Director of the Lord Mayor’s Business Round Table, Chairman of the Save City Hall fundraising committee, Deputy Chairman of St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace, and a member of the Queensland Exploration Council.

Geoff was also shortlisted for the prestigious Public Affairs Asia Gold Standard Award for Professional Excellence, recognising excellence in public affairs and corporate communication in the Asia Pacific region. He was the only Australian shortlisted for the Professional Excellence Award, considered the most prestigious of The Gold Standard Awards.
