Foodbank is by far the largest hunger relief organisation in Queensland, and last year provided enough food for 13.2 million meals.

Rowland is proud of its long association with Foodbank Queensland, and has recently provided support for several key projects including the launch of a major beef initiative, the annual Golf Day, and development of a volunteers’ Safety Induction video.

Rowland provided media relations support for the recent launch of Foodbank’s major beef initiative, designed to supply more than 130 tonnes of sausages per year to those in need.

The program, developed in partnership with Foodbank, JBS Australia, and Primo, currently supplies 5,000kg of sausages per fortnight to Foodbank in each state. Foodbank then distributes the food to those in need across Australia via 2,600 welfare agencies, many of which are located in rural Australia.

The Foodbank Queensland 2013 Golf Day was held in late July at Brookwater Golf Course and Country Club. Rowland helped organise and sponsor the day which was a great success, raising more than $30,000 for those in need throughout Queensland.

In addition to these activities, Rowland also provided creative and technical expertise for the development of a Safety Induction video. The video details the safety procedures and information required for all new Foodbank warehouse volunteers and employees.
