Rowland celebrates 30 years of communication success

MEDIA RELEASE

1 February 2022

Rowland ─ one of Australia’s leading strategic communication and advisory firms ─ is celebrating 30 years of success and achievement in 2022.

Headquartered in Brisbane, Rowland works with some of the world’s and Australia’s leading corporations, brands and government agencies to help them achieve corporate strategy, shape culture and brand, and manage reputation.

Founder and Chairman Geoff Rodgers OAM, who was 25 when he set up shop on 1 February 1992 as a ‘one-man band’ above a suburban fruit shop, has used the milestone anniversary to pay tribute to the people who have helped build the firm over three decades.

“Business is first and foremost about people and it has been a privilege to work with, and for, some of the most impressive individuals one could ever meet,” Geoff said on the anniversary.

“The last 30 years have been a genuine blast ─ I am extremely proud of the business we have today, the services we have evolved, the work we have done, and the value we add every day for our national and global clients.

“Above all, Rowland’s strong values and principles have been unconditionally maintained since Day One ─ we do great work for great clients, work with integrity, continue to learn, have fun, and share the rewards,” he said.

With brand, reputation, digital, engagement, campaign and communication services under the one roof, Rowland has evolved to bring a digital and data offering to world-class organisations, while maintaining its focus on corporate strategy, internal culture and external reputation.

Over the past 30 years, Rowland has been involved in over $25bn in financial transactions and some of the most significant corporate, cultural and change assignments in corporate Australia. The company has also trained over
3,000 executives in a range of communication and business leadership skills, and has provided communication support to some of Queensland’s and Australia’s largest resource, property and infrastructure projects.

“There has been an incredible evolution and maturation of business over the past 30 years, especially here in Queensland, and I’m proud to say we’ve kept pace with, and contributed to, it,” said Geoff.

“When I think to the future, I feel buoyed by the corporate, institutional and private capital that has been built over the past 18 months, and by the winning of the 2032 Olympics and what it will bring to the state and to the country.

“Rowland has never stood still, and that ethos not only guides our planning today but keeps us always thinking about ‘what’s next?’.”

A full-service and award-winning corporate communication, digital, creative and training agency, Rowland now has 45 employees and contractors in Australia, and a vibrant long-term association with global affiliate, FleishmanHillard, bringing direct access for the Rowland team and clients to every corner of the globe.

Although formal celebrations with clients, employees and ‘friends of the firm’ are on hold until the latest COVID-19 restrictions have eased, Geoff and his Rowland business partners marked the major milestone with staff.

“My sincerest thanks to everyone who has been part of the Rowland success story to date, and I am looking forward to seeing what the next 30 years brings.”
