Rowland was recently recognised for outstanding client work at the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) State Awards for Excellence, which recognises campaign best practice at state level.
Rowland received three awards in the following categories:
- Winner, Low cost/pro bono
- Commended, Investor Relations
- Commended, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Rowland’s promotion of 34th International Geological Congress (IGC) received a Gold Award in the low cost/pro bono category.
Rowland provided media and communication support to build the profile of, and attract delegates to, the 34th International Geological Congress (IGC), held in Brisbane in August 2012.
We achieved more than 100 items of media coverage for the 34th IGC, and engaged with key business and political influencers in Queensland to help drive delegate registrations. The campaign achieved significant online engagement through Facebook and Twitter, proving the value of using social media to engage niche groups online.
Our investor relations program for Namoi Cotton and the sustainability video for Sagittarius Mines, Inc. (SMI) received commendations in their respective categories.

The IGC PRIA award now competes nationally in the 2013 National Golden Target Awards, to be announced at the PRIA National Conference in Adelaide in November.
