The CEO Sleepout campaign, co-ordinated by the St Vincent De Paul Society, was held last month.
Thanks to your help – which I very much appreciate – I was able to raise almost $52,000 to assist Vinnies in their strong push to provide support to the homeless.
As we all know, there are many great causes out there but I am personally passionate about homelessness because in a society like Australia, I do not believe it should be tolerated and anyone could end up in this position. I earnestly believe that we all have a responsibility to assist our brothers and sisters who are homeless. In a modern city such as Brisbane and country such as Australia, homelessness is absolutely abhorrent.
Queenslanders raised $1.06m as part of a national total of $5.46m – which, for one night’s “work” is a great effort all round and provides much needed funds for this cause.
This was the sixth year that I have participated in the CEO Sleepout – only missing the first event – and over this time I have raised approximately $250,000; all through the generous support of people like yourselves and others.
I will certainly be fronting up for next year’s event and I hope you will support me again then.
