More than 100,000 Australians find themselves homeless each night of the year. Just under half of these are women and a quarter are under the age of 18.
The discomfort of sleeping on the streets is a portion of a larger reality that the St Vincent de Paul Society hopes to convey to influential leaders of the Queensland community through the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
The annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout challenges business and community leaders to experience homelessness first-hand for one night, while raising funds to support the essential homeless services in their respective states.
Rowland is proud to be supporting the Vinnies CEO Sleepout again in 2013.
In 2012, Rowland Chairman, Geoff Rodgers, achieved donations totalling more than $50,000 for the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland. Nearly $900,000 was raised across the State for this worthwhile cause, and more than $5 million was raised nationally.
This year the CEO Sleepout will take place on Thursday, 20 June 2013 in all capital cities. In Queensland the event is being held at The Courier-Mail Piazza, South Bank.
