There are more than 100,000 Australians who find themselves homeless each night of the year. Just under half of these are women; a quarter are under the age of 18.
The discomfort of sleeping on the streets is a fragment of the larger reality St Vinnies hoped to impart upon influential leaders of the community as part of the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, which was held in June at The Courier-Mail Southbank Piazza.
More than 170 influential Queensland leaders experienced homelessness for the night, raising more than $800,000 in Queensland, and more than $5.6 million nationally.
Rowland Chairman Geoff Rodgers participated again this year, raising a total of $41,650 for the cause.
Rowland was also a proud supporter of this year’s event, providing communication and media relations assistance, securing participants, and helping secure AV, staging, and photography services at no charge.
